John,

That is close to what I just paid for a machine. I do not have the blade, so making that adjustment puts it close.

John,

Not 100% sure since I used aftermarket for most of my accessories but that price does seem pretty reasonable.

Brian,

Followed your advice & have joined. I notice that Kubota
seems to have pretty tight controls over their dealer network &
assume it is to ensure the RTV pricing structure stays close to
manufacturer suggested price. I sent out quite a few quotes for
my RTV & most of the quotes have been within $500 of each
other. I also noticed that with the six or so dealers I spoke
with, none of them had heard of the drive line rattle problem or the
latest fix for it. I finally met in person with a large dealer
& the salesman also had not heard of the problem; however, he
brought the service manager into the office & I found that although
he had not experienced any customer complaints of the problem, he was
aware of the latest Kubota fix for it.

I have one more question:

Unlike other manufacturers, Kubota does not seem to be too wrapped up
or concerned with the model year of the RTV, nor do the dealers
necessarily know for sure what the model year is of a specific RTV on
their showroom floor. Don't know whether it's important or not,
but I would rather have the newest year in the event I ever decide in
the future to sell my RTV and also to lessen the likelihood of
drive line rattle problems of earlier manufactured models. The
dealer I'm working with stated that my title paperwork (pink
slip) from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) would in effect show
the model year as the year the machine was purchased new; however, it
would not necessarily reflect the manufacture date of the RTV.

Is it possible to find out what the manufacture date of a new RTV is based
upon the serial number and if so, how would I find out what it
is? I should be ready to close my deal for my RTV this week.

That's odd that they would consider the model year based on purchase date, not mfgr. date...

Do you know the serial # of the machine?

Here's some guidelines but others may have more detail. If the serial # is > 34470, it was made in April 2005 or later.

Not sure but I wonder if the year is in the VIN #. Eg. Mine is KRTV900A410#####... (##### = the serialnumber). I wonder if the "4" right after the "A" is the manufacture year.

Don't know the serial number; however, I spoke with the salesman this
morning & he is supposed to get the serial # info for me later
today.

Just got a call back from my salesman & he states the serial number on the new machine reserved for me is 43671. Seems like quite a jump from April 2005 machines at 34470, but I assume it means that: 1.) Kubota has sold a lot (9,201) of RTVs since then & 2.) this new machine was manufactured fairly recently.

I'll let you know when I take delivery on my RTV.

I based the 34470 off of a modification Kubota made in April of this year. It started with that SN.

Sounds like you have a very new machine there.
