Hello,

I have a dk55 . REcently noticed small bubbles in coolant resivoir. The tractor is not overheating and coolant and oil levels are fine. ALso color of oil and coolant looks fine. Should I be worried that this is a sign of a leaky head gasket. Do other people see bubles in the coolant resivoir?

Try starting it from cold with the radiator cap off. Run around to the front and watch for bubbles in the top of the radiator.

Bubbles in the reservoir could also just mean a radiator cap or overflow hose that isn't airtight, so air gets in when it cools, then gets pushed to the overflow bottle as the engine warms up.

One problem with compression getting into the coolant is that it can go the other way, water draining into the cylinder(s) overnight. If you have a compression release, use it before starting to blow any water out of the cylinders. Water is incompressible and can crack rings etc.
