'99 MX100 Case International tractor will only move in reverse. Mechanic said it was the transfer case,(over the phone), and would cost between $5000-$15000 to fix. Any other suggestions as to what may be the problem? Are electrical issues a common problem in these tractors? Thanks in advance!
Wow, that is an extremely high estimate, especially coming from someone who has not even seen the tractor. From a case brochure "There are 18 forward and 4 reverse gears. Electronic auto shift lets the operator maintain speed" which would indicate to me that yes it possibly could be electrical.
