Ford 3000, 3 point linkage

I'm a first time tractor owner and I'm not sure what the proper configuration is for how everything (sway bars, chains) is supposed to be hooked up in the rear of the tractor. I've had my box hooked up to the 3 point and there is a lot of sway. I made adjustments to the chain length but to get the chains to the ideal length they interfere with the raising and lowering of the hitch. A couple of people have looked at it and given me different answers. I've looked in my operator's manual but it doesn't give me a lot of information. Can someone send pictures of their setup? I have a 1967 Ford 3000 diesel.

Thanks,

Don

Let google be your friend and guide. Do a search for 3 point hitch and you'll find most everything you ever wanted (and did not want) to know about the hitches.

is a nice little video going over a Kubota 3 point hitch, but very similar on other tractors also. I have a Ford 445 and instead of chains, they are stabalizer bars made out of a steel plate. Same idea though.
