jd3140 problem

I have a MF 165 that also got fuel in the oil after setting a couple months. I was told due to the age of the tractor the injector pump might be leaking thru slow. I haven't had a problem with it running, what little I do use it. When I found it I changed the oil & filter, and shut the fuel off when I park it now. (I was also told if you leave it in the crankcase it might get hot enough to ignite, which could cause a whole other set of problems!!)

Good luck with it, hopefully somebody that has more knowledge than me will be by shortly & give us both some advice.

Could be a leaking transfer pump or leaking shaft seals on injection pump. The transfer pump is relatively inexpensive. Recommend changing oil and filter, and replace transfer pump. Run it for a while and keep a close watch on oil level. If oil level continues to rise, Injection pump will need to be removed and install new shaft seals. Chances are that the shaft bushings will be worn also.
