Noticed this in the pasture next door to my sil's place.

Front of it has paddles like a combine.

Sorry for the poor pic quality, cell phone camera at 1/2 mile or so.

That's cool but what does it do????? The grass in the photo doesn't look tall enough to cut for hay.

Olcowhand that is it!

The grass was about a foot or so tall. If they bale it no telling how many acres to get one bale.

Don't ya figure it's just sitting there waiting on the hay to grow tall enough ....or they've had a breakdown.

No, it was moving. Making all kinds of interesting noises, rattles, and bangs.

Sorry I forgot to give an update. I was there a couple of days after the photo.

The field is @25 acres or so. There were 6 round bales scattered around the field. Frank was right. Not tall enough to make much hay.
