Its funny you should mention the color of the bucket. At the time i hadnt given it much thought but afterward i looked at them and kind of chuckled because i had white, black and yellow buckets besides the orange ones kicking around and must be my sub-concious picked the orange one for a reason...

The CV boot guards are just made out of a home depot 5 gallon homer bucket i cut to shape with my bandsaw. I made a template of the shape i needed out of card board and cut 4 of them out of one bucket. I use 2 zip ties per guard securing them to the lower control arms. That way it is easy to cut...

All together about 20lbs. I have used and abused it and have had to slack chain frozen logs to get them moving and have had no deflection in the plate or any of the structural areas where it is mounted.
