Yes ....those are the bolts where the cross bar mounts. The base of my windshield is straight . Yours is curved as your dealer said. Maybe you could use longer bolts with spacers to clear the curvature?

No. It uses two of the hood hinge bolts and clamps to the front bumper.

There are four quick clamps. Two by the bumper and two by the windshield then it lifts off. It is fairly lite and indexes back on the brackets easily. It sounds harder than it is.
