    engine hoist/crane thingy

A little something I made up earlier this year to help around the property. Using some square tubing left over from another project, and an 8 ton bottle jack I got for cheap in a local auction. Primary purpose - to lift the rebuilt engine back into my RV. But of course, once it's sittin...

Do you know your way around a GMC Vandura?

Hey guys, long time no see... Life has been keeping me pretty busy of late and I haven't been logging on much. The new job takes 100% of my time and when I get home I got too much to do... so sitting at my computer and surfing the internet has taken a distant place in my priorities!! Anyway...

    MTD - Transaxle 618-0167

Hey guys, I've got a mid 90's White (MTD) ride on mower that has a problem. First off, I thought it was the drive chains slipping on the axle sprockets and so I replaced the bronze axle bushings. It didn't solve the problem. So now I'm thinking the problem may be inside the tramsmission...

    Now I know...

... how bad you guys felt when you posted threads about the passing of your pets. I laid my best friend to rest this morning, after almost 17 years of friendship. Constantly at my side and always there to find my hand when it should have been rubbing his head. God damn its hard to deal with him...

    Aerating season has begun here...

A few pics of my core aerator. Promised to post them last year but never did. Took a standard agrifab 48" tow behind aerator, removed the wheels and draw bar and adapted it to fit on my 3pt. A bit too much weight when the drum is full of water but it sure does get max penetration (and some)...

I do like the smell of fresh cut grass!

Spring has arrived early over here! We've had a couple of spring fresh days and the icy cold has all but gone away for the time being so its a good opportunity to get outdoors and do some tidyup in the yard. Did some strimming along the fences and even gave the whole yard a once over with the...

    Mmmmmmmm, freshly tilled soil...

On my way into work this morning it seemed every farmer was out ploughing or harrowing... It was THE most enjoyable ride into work I've had in such a while. Opened all the windows of the car to let the Freshly tilled soil smell... Coming in second place only to fresh cut grass, fresh tilled...

    Storm in W. Europe...

Hey Mith, I hope your hatches are battened down over there... We got hammered lastnight with severe gusts and flooding from this storm. I had a lot of trees down and anything that was not tied down in my garden got blown away. Furniture and pot plants etc.... We had a calm period this morning...

Had my first "brown trouser" moment yesterday...

Moving a load of concrete blocks from one part of my yard to the top garden. I had already made 7-8 runs with about 10-15 concrete blocks in the rear transporter each time with no problems. The only hazard to navigate was a narrow path that leads from the lower yard to the top lawn. Its only...

    DIY front weight box

After using the transport box the last few days, I found the front was lifting excessively when the transport box is full.. Learning to steer with the brakes is interesting but not so much fun after a few hours... So yesterday I rang the local kubota main dealer who quoted €75 +tax per 24kg cast...

    A question about SMV plates.

Just a question about the SMV plate and something I've noticed on some photos lately. Is it mandatory to have a SMV triangle fitted in the US? Do you need to have your tractor registered like having a registration tag on the back? I just havent seen too many photos of tractors with registration...
