What year RTV do you currently own?

Another thread got me thinking about the age of members RTV's. Wondering if people still have the old ones or are the new ones more common. I don't recall when the model years changed so the year selections in the poll may not reflect particular models. For this poll, it doesn't matter which...

    Front strut busted apart

Was driving through the woods and then BANG. I stopped moving the RTV immediately. Engine sounds were normal (phew). Shut it down and walked around. Uh Oh, one front tire is pointing 1 direction, other tire is opposite direction. I was on a steep hill so I tied the winch to a tree and...

What do you do with your used UDT?

I've been just dumping it into the used oil drum but wondering if it can/should be reused somehow. Although it's used, could it be used in an application like a log splitter or should I just keep using cheap but new hyd fluid in the splitter? Other ideas?

API Service level for RTV engine oil

Getting ready to change the fluids in the RTV. The manual states to use API Service CC, CD or CF. I checked the shelves and don't have any in stock. What I do have is Rotella T5 diesel oil with API Service CJ-4, CI-4, CI-4 PLUS, CH-4, CG-4. This is 10W-30. Also have John Deere oil with similar...

Polaris Ranger XP 1000 Trail Boss

A friend of mine just picked got his delivered. Ordered it nearly a year ago. WOW, that thing is nice. 1000cc engine with over 80HP, 29" tires, huge ground clearance, VERY nice interior, 2500# towing, 3 range tranny. He got several accessories (front & rear windshields, hard doors, headache...

    Thinking of selling my RTV

I've had it since 2004. I got it all fixed up the way I like it but it barely gets used anymore. I used to use it for everything but now it's pretty much used for processing firewood and an occasional joy ride. The ATV and tractor can take care of those items. That's a lot of machine to sit...

    Here's a "Talk About Anything" - II

This is just like the old one, talk about whatever. The other thread is getting a bit too large so we'll use this one going forward. The other will remain but this new one should reduce overhead and load times.

    Kubota D905 engine on Craigslist

Saw this on CL. I have nothing to do with it nor know anything about it. The D905 is what the 1100 series RTV's use, right? https://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/grd/d/butler-diesel-engine/7141785229.html

If you're considering doing any canvas work for your RTV be it seat covers, replacement seat cushions, custom cabs, tonneau covers, plastic/soft windows or whatever else you're looking for: If you have any marinas around you, it may be worth checking with them. There's guys that do the...

    Updates needed

I've been incredibly busy lately and haven't been here as much as I'd like. I have seen some great posts/threads though. I'd like to update our Sticky thread "Index to some popular / useful RTV threads" with threads that have come up recently that are worthwhile to keep in our index for easy...

Price for RTV 400 or 500?

My Dad is thinking of getting another RTV, either the 400 or 500. Kubota's web page is showing them at around $11K (I forgot to ask my Dad if that included the roof, windshield and winch he wants on it). Can anyone give an idea of what dealers are getting for these machines? As mentioned, he...

    RTV900 steering limiter - 2004 model

I have a pair of steering limiters for an '04 RTV900. I think Kubota built in limiters starting in 2005 but would need someone to confirm. Basically, the early RTV's didn't have something to stop the steering angle (it could be turned too far and break something). So, Kubota made/sold a kit...

    For sale - RTV900 bed tonneau cover(s)

I have a couple bed tonneau covers I don't need. Pics below. Bought the first one but never installed. Bought the 2nd one since I forgot I had the first. Neither box has been opened since I put in a homemade bed which is holding up better than expected so I never went back to OEM. So, I...

Now the dog likes to ride. Solution for sliding on seat.

For years, my dog would sit in the RTV until you started it up then she jumped off quickly. She had no problems with trucks, golf carts or ATV's so I'm assuming it's related to the diesel. This year, I worked with her on riding in the RTV. It worked and now (as it is when I hop in the truck)...

At what weight does rear suspension bottom out?

And the bed comes down and hits the rubber stopper on the frame? Anyone measure it out or know? I try to keep my loads of firewood at the weight where it comes close to the stopper but doesn't actually touch. Yesterday, I had some really heavy oak and had them really compressed. The rear...

    RTV Filter kits

I can't find the thread where we discussed filter kits for the RTV's. I think I recall people saying the best place to get them was on e-bay. A couple things I noticed. Last time I looked at the $80 kit on e-bay: - There was a note that the air filter is not for the hi-rise version. Does the...

10 years ago today I got my RTV

Been a nice experience. I tweaked it to my needs within the first year or so (change tires, add stereo...) but it's been flawless since. Hoping I don't jinx things but it's never been in the shop. I did have a couple issues early on (e.g. anyone remember the fogging gauges?) but the dealer...

    Pork prices may skyrocket

A virus is hitting pork stocks. Over 5,000,000 piglets recently lost and 1,300,000 in January alone. Prices are climbing quickly. Fill your freezers while you have a chance...

My RTV is a block of ice.

Had to cross a creek today, multiple times. (Firewood is on the other side of the creek). Fired up the RTV at 12 degrees. Crossed the creek once to see how it would go. Needed a test run before I put a trailer loaded behind it. Broke through the ice and it felt like I was driving on cinder...
