Has anyone built a homemade potato digger?

Back when I was a kid and we grew a lot of spuds, we just used a single bottom moldboard plow with the coulter removed to dig them... It worked fairly OK, just had to pick them out of the dirt. But most importantly, it damaged very few.

At what Groundspeed do you mow?

I mow in 4th Low, which the book says is good for 5.05 mph at rated rpm... Can't tell any difference at that speed and any slower speed.

    Tire Checking

Do you use ArmorAll or similar product on your tires? I've seen a few tires that have been heavily AA'd develop cracks like that. Don't know why it happens though.

HMK, That's pretty cool! I'd like to start saving seeds too... I've been starting my own plants from seed for the past 6-7 years now, but haven't saved seeds. This year we're doing Brandywine, Big Boys, Sweet 100's, Yellow Jubilee, and Roma tomatoes, with about 3 plants of each. How are the...

    Seat belt - use it?

So,my question is, are the seatbelts really there for idiots who operate their tractors/equipment in an unsafe manner, or are they there to protect in case of an actual, honest to goodness accident? Are we all such unstable people that we can't be trusted to operate our equipment in a safe...

    My Dairy Farm Homestead

OK... I thought that might have been what those were... you don't see too many silage pits (ground silo's is what they call them around here) in my area. We had 2 Harvestore silos, 2 WhiteStar's and a Ribstone. We fed mostly haylage and corn silage to the lactating cows and dry cows/pregnant...

    HD bucket for ML106 loader

Brandi, I made mine myself. I used 3/8" hooks with the eye at the end, just like MtnViewRanch, if I remember correctly. I took a sharpie and marked out on each hook the lines I was going to contour to. Then I cut off the eye with a 4 1/2" grinder and a cutoff wheel, then took my angle...
