Trailer Nah, trailer is 7000 lb GVW, was fine for tractor, but tires were shot, the new ones are nice and it moves the tractor fine. NM UV is tough on rubber. Worked the tractor this weekend... runs fine and I really like the HST! Stopped by the local tractor dealer and looked at implements...

Oh, implements... we just picked up a bearcat chipper shredder for the PTO, looks like it'll work fine. Most of our stuff was fitted to the old Ford 9N... couple plows, an old Woods brushhog, cultivator, rototiller (which was too big for the 9n, the 3830 should handle easily), 5' backblade...

Backhoe is definitely on my Christmas list. We got this tractor for a little over $14K with 365hrs so I think it was an OK deal. It doesn't have rear remotes though. So I've been reading up about adding the option. You guys have great info here, thanks. Looks like I can add the dealer kit...

    family addition

Well, we picked her up... our very own 3830 with an LA723 loader. Now I have no nore excuses... By the way, if you're gonna carry something this heavy on your trailer, make sure the tires are in GREAT shape. Ended up loosing 3 of 5 on the trip and had to get a whole new set of rubber to...

Any details on "tapping into" the tractor's hydraulics? Was it tough?

    Which one?

Saw the 3830 today, will pick it up Saturday. I love the HST! Wow. Compared to my old 9n, it was like... well there really is no comparison. So smooth... sweet. Will post some picks early next week if all goes well. Thanks again for the advice. Your words convinced me to look at the...

    Which one?

Thanks guys, yes it was a typo - should be 3830, too many model numbers in my head! I am leaning toward 3830 but the 3400 is much closer. Also the 3830 was bought from auction by the current owner, so its history is sketchier. The 3400 is original owner new. Thanks Bob

    Which one?

OK - I've narrowed it down to two tractors; A 2007 L3839 with loader (QA bucket), 4X4, HST, 365hrs A 2008 L3400 with loader (QA bucket), 4X4, HST, 72hr. Each are comparable, with corresponding prices reflecting hours. The difference in price is not the issue, the question is, in this forum's...

    Fare Price...

Apparently they dont make the 3830 anymore. I compared it to a new 3940 comparably equipped on the Kubota website. This is a 2007, low hours model and its about 50% MSR of the new 3940. The owner says he wants to get a bigger HP unit for his place, that's why he's selling...I might be making...

    Fare Price...

Hi folks, Looking a Kubota to replace the ol' FORD 8n. Have a line on a used L3830. My question is, what's a fair price for one? It specs as follows: Kubota L3830 38 Horsepower 4x4 w/Front end loader, quick attachment bucket 361 Hours Hydrostatic Transmission New Condition I'd have...
