TYM 353HST - mini review The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

fla45 - Nice to see someone back on the forum. The only issue I have had with my 353 (approx. 110 hrs) is the exhaust location. I didn't like the discharge facing the FEL arm so I cut the end off and added a 90 facing the ground now. Makes me happier not having the black soot all over the arm...

    TYM T353 warning lights

Mt.view - The fuse box is mounted on a bracket in front of the firewall just behind the air cleaner. The box faces toward the right, it has a small finger screw holding the cover on. There is a diagram inside the cover explaining the fuses.

    TYM T353 warning lights

If you are in 4wd the light should be on, if you engage the pto the light should come on. If they are not on when those items are engaged I would look at your fuses for a quick fix. They all should be operational on start up also.

    TYM Tractors

I have had my 353HST for over a year now and no problems whatsoever. I have about 60 hours on it waiting to put another 30 or so on just moving snow if we ever get anything worth mentioning this winter. What does the dealer say about all of your issues?

    Block heater for TYM 353HST

It's nice to know that Woody's will stand behind the products they sell even though it took some doing. I hope you get all your money back. It would be interesting to know if your mechanic brother sees any problem with doubling up on the glow plugs before starting. Let me know if you ask him.

    Block heater for TYM 353HST

OK, here is a 353 owner, somebody had to step up. Last winter was my first with a tractor and I left it parked outside under a tarp. I had no trouble with it starting but I used the glow plug heater x2 trick I learned on one of the tractor forums. After you heat the plugs wait 5 seconds and...

    TYM Tractors

My dealer here in Idaho has the T353HST at $19,400 with the FEL. The geared T353 is about a 1,000 le$$.

The specs from the TYM website says 53.5" but that may vary depending on the tire package the dealer puts on.

    TYM Tractors

I added a couple of lights to the rear on my RPOS since I have a 3pt blower for my driveway/road. :letitsnow: How about a pic of the placement of the lights, we all like new ideas.

VSDI - Welcome to the TYM club. I also have the 353HST and it has done everything I asked of it. The lights look great, did you get some for the rear and the backhoe or do those swivel to the back?

    running lights

Did your dealer ever come up with an idea? Here is how I added some rear lights to my T353. These are lights I bought from my TYM dealer, they have switches on the lights. The brackets are just "L" brackets from Lowe's and can be mounted forward also. I used the existing cab mounting bracket...

    RPM meter

A one time anomaly may not mean a potential failure BUT I would keep an eye on the gauge. I have a T353HST and had a similar hickup with the fuel gauge once but not since. A call to your dealer to talk with the mechanic may put your mind to rest. Thank goodness for a 5 year warranty!

fla45fan - I think you will like having forks, I have used the heck out of my fork attachment. With the lift capacity of the fel you should be able to do almost anything. Did you ever get the adjustable stops for your 3 pt? Doc - I purchased a set of the clamp on mirrors and for just backing...

    Work lights

Well since everyone seems to like pictures I thought I would post these. I just added a couple of 35 watt work lights to my TYM T353HST. It came with one light (25w) behind the seat but I thought that would not help too much with a 3 pt. snowblower. I added the lights to the ROPS using an L...

TYM 353HST - mini review The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

fla45fan - I liked your idea of lights on the ROPS so I had to add some myself. Of course most of my need for light will be snowblowing so mine face rear to go with the 3 pt. blower. I will try and post some pics.

TYM 353HST - mini review The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Congratulations!! I think you will be happy with it. My only wish is that my land was flatter so I could do more with it. My main functions are driveway/road up keep, firewood management and snowblowing.:letitsnow: But I guess when you decide to live on the side of a mountain you don't get...

TYM 353HST - mini review The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Hey fla45fan - I just noticed something missing in one of your pictures. You show the light switch near your lever for the 3pt hydraulics. My 353 has two locks so I can set a high and low stop for the hydraulics. They slide forward and back and have a knob on them to tighten them in place...
