    Chainsaw Mill

Squerly. I have used one, years ago. The one we used was just a guide, every thing else was manual. It worked pretty good, but was a little more wasteful of wood than a bandsaw would have been. Not sure I would want to use one now, they were pretty labor intensive. Of course, there are some...

Tractor runs on idle but quits when give gas

If the filter and line don't fix the problem, it is probably the carburetor. the needles could be gummed up or, if it has one, the float could be chocked up with gunk. a good tear down cleaning or rebuild would fix it though.

    Old ford transmission question

If you can't drive it out, you may have to drill it or cut it out. Not sure on that one what the recommended procedure would be.

    2440 Hydraulic Problems

daus, not familiar with the 2440, but the 3020 has a combined hydraulic/transmission system. A problem in the transmission can cause fits with the hydraulics and vice versa. Have you had any indications of a trans problem before? slippage or not wanting to pull? Might not be the first thing...

    Green Slime: Service Life?

This is from the Slime FAQ site. not sure how correct this would be under those conditions. Slime Tire Sealants can be used in relatively extreme conditions. Slime will not freeze solid in extreme cold, but the viscosity may increase. As soon as the tire is in rotation, friction will create...

That is always the first piece of crap I disable on a mower, should have thought of that.

    Craftsman 917.273280

Sounds like either the tranny is locked, or, there is a bind in the drive train. Check all the pulleys if it is belt drive. Sometimes a pulley will seize and choke the motor down.

    Craftsman 917.273280

If it is in gear, with the deck disengaged, it is the tranny or drive train. If the deck is engaged, probably a bound up shaft on the deck.

Hi folks, I have operated tractors and heavy equipment off and on most of my life. Currently do a bit of mechanic and refurb work on tractors, but not much. Last job on a tractor was on a Minnie Mo BG.
