    tires on ebay

I know! It's about dang time this thread got some attention again!! I'll say this - its hard to find GOOD tires. I have actually had better luck with some Chinese tires than I have with "Made in the USA" Titan tires. There's no way of knowing until years have passed.

    tires on ebay

I almost bought my 14.9 x 24 rears from Tucker, but didn't like the idea of rubber made in India (it just doesn't last). The ones I got are European made and have nice deep lugs (R-1 tread pattern) from Nebraska tire. They aren't on ebay. Their selection is HUGE and their prices are very. very...

    harvester 454

If it's anything like a 404 or 424, the fill plug is on top really close to the gearshifter. The level plug is on the left side, near the 3-pt hitch linkage. The oil level is right when you see in the oil fill holes it's about 6-8 down from the top.

    Where's this oil coming from?

Is there any way to make this picture bigger? That definitely looks like a diesel drip on the housing. I can't see enough to comment on the oil.

    Where's this oil coming from?

Yes, it's obviously not heavy enough to be "structure". It's just a tin cover; likely just cosmetic (with limited functionality).

Yanmar: Photos of the various Gray Market models

It would be a GREAT garden machine. Don't let the numbers fool you. I used to work at a certified seed plant that ran a 8" x71' Westfield auger (with a swing hopper) with a 16 HP Kubota tractor! Even more impressive - - I plugged that auger once when the bin got full, and the tractor NEVER...

    New 2014 Yanmar Tractors

The fight is has been on in the C.U.T. field between Deere and Kubota, and it's good to get Yanmar back in the fight... they have a GREAT "Rep" for quality. I wouldn't buy a Deere now that they sold out to China. I can't afford any new tractors, anyway :(

Yanmar: Photos of the various Gray Market models

Yes, it looks like it would be a HANDY little rig! My wife would love that! Kind of like an Allis-Chalmers "G" that evolved over the years!

    New 2014 Yanmar Tractors

Wow, they sure look a LOT like the John Deere CUT's... just red. I'd like to look them over while they are sitting side by side! (The new JD's have a LOT of the phrase "Made in China" all over them!)

want to make log trailer with boom

I really like that 2" hitch crane!! WooHoo, the wife is out of town for a few days and the welder is coming out tonight! I can adapt my current cherry picker easily.... I think I'll make it with castering wheels on the "outriggers" and a "swivel/pivot" where it goes into the receiver so it...

    Coolant Recovery Tank

I need the same size for my International 404 (it originally had 12.4 x28's) and I was thinking about buying from Tucker Tire in Dyersburg: http://www.tuckertire.com/ Tucker's Tire Company FARM TIRES FARM TIRES FARM TIRES Acres of Tires in Tennessee! Call; 1-888-248-7146 Or 731-285-8520 Also...

    Coolant Recovery Tank

It can indeed be hit-and-miss. Most older tractors have either a low pressure cap like yours, or a "no pressure" cap (like the old Farmalls) A seat-of-the-pants guess is about all you can do... make sure the tops of the core tubes are covered plus "some more" for low level, and if you open the...

want to make log trailer with boom

A tandem axle boat trailer is a darn good start, but the one I have is still built pretty light... and would need some decent reinforcing before I feel it could handle any more than maybe 3,000-4,000 lbs. The attraction of boat trailers is that they can be found really inexpensive. A tandem...

    low budget leaf vac

I don't like how the engine muffler/exhaust is blowing directly at where you sit... I would have to move that!

    Coolant Recovery Tank

I don't know why you say this. I have tractors over 70 years old (1941 Farmall H) that have worked fine all their lives without a coolant recovery tank. You have to realize the top radiator tank on many of these old tractors is HUGE! After you cover the top of the core ends with liquid, you...

    The good news is -

Quoted for truth. I bought my YM2000 as a non-runner - - I have never seen pistons that broken up that BAD in any engine in my life! Starting fluid is a bad excuse for taking a good engine that is a little bit worn (and usually just needs rings) and turning it into a boat anchor....

    Is it worth it?

It sounds like the engine is in good shape. A diesel can sit for years and still start easy because diesel doesn't gum up in a couple months like gasoline does. Oh, do not confuse "11 HP" from a diesel like this Yanmar with "11HP" like what you see a "normal" riding lawnmower is rated at, - -...

    Is it worth it?

I bought a YM2000 (late 70's model) that someone got carried away with the "starting fluid" and broke the engine bad (Not Yanmar's fault)... after fixing the engine, it has been dead reliable, and REALLLLLY easy on the fuel (I can work it for hours and not even use 1 gallon!!) I would buy that...

    JD316 Onan Engine Issues

Buy a set of micro size drill bits: http://www.harborfreight.com/high-speed-steel-micro-drill-set-piece-61526.html Sometimes a torch tip cleaning tool will work ... use the closest sized one that fits your jets and passages and clean the crud out of them. It takes VERY little film/slime in...
