    cavitation blues?

That Kubota service session did all of those things- filters & fluids - but couldn't find anything wrong that they tested for. I live on top of the mountain so anywhere I go I notice this.

    cavitation blues?

My x900 doesn't like going downhill. Whenever the descent is steep enough (not very steep at all) I can push the accelerator from idle to howling yet nothing happens until I get to levelish ground. Then she'll suddenly leap. Fluid levels check OK; both tranny and tank. what to do? This is...

    Hand Throttle

No. Both cables connect to the engine. Being cables , pull on one will override the other.

    Hand Throttle

It works with the pedal - the pedal tells the tranny that you want x speed and also gives the engine some rpm to do it with. The manual throttle overrides the rpm of the pedal without demanding more speed from the tranny. Bogging down happens when the expected speed is too high for the rpm and...

    hells bales

why oh why does every bale of straw or hay come with three extra one inch pieces of plastic twine floating in the goods? They are getting to be a pain to pick up and I fail to see any purpose. Grossly irresponsible littering in my book. :myopinion:

    grab handle for drivers side

Speaking of missing handles... What do you grab with your right hand when doing the full torso twist for serious backing- up?

    hydraulic oil leak

Sorry, no... THere is a RECALL about the Fuel tank. THis is a silly rubber cap on the hydraulics tank. The tank itself seems fine.

    hydraulic oil leak

looks like 1/2 inch cap. darn it I forgot to measure.

    hydraulic oil leak

ick. My x900 started piddling in the garage. Took the belly pans off, all full of oily crud on top. Leak looks like coming from hydraulic tank which is under the passenger seat, forward of fuel tank. Has four hoses coming to it, with regular hose clamps. MESSY. As for reaching up there, only...

    engine brake / coasting

Here's the pic from the manual. On the machine itself it is good and buried. It appears I can play with the rod length as well as the adjustment nut at the top of the square black tower thingy.

    engine brake / coasting

Here's what the manual says to check HighPressure Relief Valve Pressure (Dynamic Brake) ... 1. Remove the cargo bed. 2. Remove the hex. socket head plug from P2 port (2). (P2 is for dynamic brake.) 3. Install the HST adaptor and high pressure gauge to P2 port (2). 4. Check to see that parking...

    engine brake / coasting

I installed and removed it myself. The only adjustment was the steering limiter up front. Back there, I DID adjust the unload valve linkage so the brake pedal would actually do some unloading.

Center picture, a bit murky , sorry

    engine brake / coasting

Nothing on the left side but on the right side there is a largish nut out of which protrudes a deep cap of some sort. As I understand the diagrams it is inline with the HighPressureReliefValve ... I'll stare at it some more. Thanks

    engine brake / coasting

I still got this problem: ...when I take my foot off the pedal going downhill the engine RPM will drop to idle but the vehicle will slowly accelerate (depending on how steep the hill) to a slowly rising tranny whine. Not what I want at all! Not with a heavy trailer behind me... The engine...

    engine brake / coasting

I agree that sudden deceleration is hard if the rear u-joints have to take it all. However I have trained myself to ease off gently and I am almost always in 4wd so that would distribute /cut the stress in half.

    engine brake / coasting

I don't think it really changed because of the tracks. But since the tracks are each a heavy vehicle in their own right with considerable rolling resistance... my expectations had changed. I vaguely remember the unit picking up speed on zero pedal, going down a steep slope. It will catch...

    engine brake / coasting

I took the tracks offa my x900 which eliminated alot of rolling resistance. Now I notice that when I take my foot off the pedal going downhill the engine RPM will drop to idle but the vehicle will not stop, it will actually slowly accelerate (depending on how steep the hill) to a slowly rising...

    RTV900 with Comoplast UTV T4S

I had to remove the stabilizer brackets. Which was a bit of a disappointment but still trivial in the overall song and dance... that way everything stays together. The bracket would stick out to where the tire wanted to be. Now that I'm on wheels again, I can say that - With tracks on, the...
