    RTV 900 with cracked head

just following up, because I hate when people don't. I bought the head that ArmyAviatr suggested. I did have to drill and tap 2 of the valve cover holes. I replaced the thermostat and both temp sensors while i did it. She's back running finally, now she seems rich at wide open. I will be going...

    RTV 900 with cracked head

Hey folks. My 2005 RTV900G overheated, and was blowing coolant on startup (looking in the radiator) I pulled the head today and I have a crack in the 2nd cylinder from the injector port to the valve. Also have 2 smaller smaller cracks starting on the outside 2 cylinders. I've read through...

    The Beast

Congrats BBrian on the new toy!!! I've been looking for a X1000C but they are few and far between. My wife told me last year my old 2005 900 was beat and I should get a new one before I retire. Bad timing.....

    Whoops oil put in transmission

I have done quads and bikes for near 40 years. If I do an engine that was flooded (with water), I Drain it, refill. THEN run about 1 to 3 minutes to get warm, and drain again, for a long time. My small engine buddy (Briggs, Kohler) does 3 flushes. At the cost of a Hydro, I would do at least 1...

    Memorial Day

Wasn't around because I was gone for the Holiday. I was at the Indy 500 and did witness a GREAT tribute to those who gave all. Collie and Doc, thank you for your posts, glad there are people like you in this country.

First Snow Plowing Experience With X900

If you have all paved/concrete to plow, yes the regular cutting blade is the way to go. On those the pipe does leave some small amounts of snow. My issue is a love of plowing. I plow out widows, single moms, older couples, anyone who needs a little help. I will plow 6 to a dozen places every...

First Snow Plowing Experience With X900

I ran with the pipe for 3 years, and it worked awesome on 95% of the stuff i plowed. Only issue I had with it was my neighbors 1/4 mile drive with large (3/4" to 1 1/4" stones). I only plowed occasionally when they were gone, but it would rattle your teeth loose. On paved or nice small stone...

    26 inch tires on RTV900

Just a follow up. I had the Carlisle chevron tread tires, and they wore funny at the end. I also developed a nasty vibration in my metal cab and doors. I did buy the 26X11X12's above, and they fit prefectly. Best part I drove the RTV to get the tires changed, and took the long way home, many...

    26 inch tires on RTV900

Mornin' folks. I just talked to my tire guy, and UTV tires are really hard to get. 1st time since 1974 i will buy tires from someone else. So i am looking at Carlisle Versa trail 26X11X12s. My machine is a tired old 2005 RTV900. Any input on whether these would be too much for the old girl...

    Thermo temp switch

Mill79, I would start by looking at the right side of radiator, and usually they are in the lower right corner. This is not a Kubota, but they all look kinda like this

    Thermo temp switch

The fans are usually controlled by a second thermal "switch" relay in the radiator. Fan is controlled directly from that. 12vdc to one side, when the relay is made it puts 12vdc to the fan. These are a common failure in quads and side by sides. I did one for a friend in a 2018 Kubota...
