    Steep Grades?

Thank you all for your feedback so far. I mentioned in a previous thread a while back that I seriously considered other UTVs. High on my list was the Honda Pioneer 1000 since it is one of the few without a CVT belt but its cab is just not on par with the X1100C. Given my intended use, a proper...

    Steep Grades?

I’ve made my decision and plan to acquire a new RTV X1100C. I had high hopes for the RTV-XG850 Sidekick but it’s lacking in many areas and is the same as other UTV offerings with no real advantage over the competition...

XG-850 Sidekick Now On Kubota Website

I had high hopes for this new model but got to be honest and say I'm disappointed. There are plenty of UTVs on the market that have better specs and cost about the same. The Honda Pioneer 1000 with DCT transmission is a good example. I would have been pleased if Kubota tweaked the X1000C...

    New Kubota RTV-XG850 Sidekick

If the specs and features listed in the BW article are accurate, this is a major disappointment and so I won’t be purchasing the new RTV. They clearly positioned this vehicle to complete in the multipurpose UTV segment but failed even before getting out of the gate. They have done nothing to...

    New Kubota RTV-XG850 Sidekick

That's what immediately came to mind when I first viewed the clip. Now that I've viewed it a few more times, it reminds me of the JD XUV line with the quad headlights. I actually don't mind the styling, I just hope it hasn't lost its Kubota pedigree for heavy duty work. I don't want belt...

    New Kubota RTV-XG850 Sidekick

Found some information on the new gas version of the RTV-X. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrmQpkBNItY I will reserve my judgement when I see the full specs. Hope it has a proper cab with all the amenities.

New Kubota next year that runs 50mph ?

In my humble opinion, Kubota is already under immense pressure in the work UTV segment and will be forced to up their game or risk losing significant market share. Ten years ago, the only real work UTV offering was Kubota. Now we have the likes of Honda, JD, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Polaris, CanAm...

New Kubota next year that runs 50mph ?

I believe the Tier 4 exemption limit is 25HP. That's likely the reason the 1100cc RTVs are pegged at 24.8HP. Anything more requires complex and expensive after-treatment systems such as DPF, DOC, SCR, DEF. I think Kubota will keep the diesels in the RTV line but you just won't get higher HP...

New Kubota next year that runs 50mph ?

This is welcome news if it's indeed happening! I too would prefer a diesel but with all the complex and potentially unreliable components required for higher HP modern diesels to meet emissions requirements, I understand why they likely chose a gasser. Add selectable locking front and rear...

Next Generation RTV - What would your like to see?

I’ve been shopping for a UTV for a few years now and have gotten close to pulling the trigger on one but can’t help feeling that I would be compromising on my needs and requirements if I purchased one of the current utility vehicle offerings. I think the Kubota RTV is the closest to meeting my...

    Track Kit

I’ve performed the customary search before posing this question but haven’t come up with much? I’m considering installing a set of tracks on a RTV X1100C if I move ahead with purchasing the machine. I have a few questions for those of you that have experience with a track system on the RTV...

    RTV vs the Competition

I think that the Tier 4 diesel emission requirements has the Kubota up against the wall with little room to manoeuvre. Increasing the power on the RTV, thus improving some of its shortcomings (speed, off-road capabilities, etc…), would have to come at the expense of more complex and costly...

    RTV vs the Competition

The utility side-by-side market has never been more competitive with new models being announced that are now challenging the iconic RTV. It appears to me that Kubota, once dominating the utility vehicle market segment, has been resting on their laurels in terms of innovation and improvements. If...

    2016 RTV X1100C or Honda Pioneer 1000?

Treehouse, Thanks for your suggestion. I did look closely at the JD 825i and 855D but as you mentioned, they both have belts which I’d rather avoid if possible. I’m leaning towards the 2016 X1100C but want to wait for the details on the PTO option. I’ve looked at the cab offerings of the...

    2016 RTV X1100C or Honda Pioneer 1000?

More details on the front PTO: For the first time in 2016, Kubota is offering a front-PTO connection on its RTV-X1100C. Implements can hook up to the PTO in seconds by simply flipping the PTO lever. The PTO is gearbox driven, for added durability and precision. The complete system can be...

    2016 RTV X1100C or Honda Pioneer 1000?

I believe that the Bobcat 3600 series is a rebadged Polaris Brutus HD PTO. IMHO the fit and finish on the Polaris/Bobcat does not compare to the RTV. The Toolcat 5600 series on the other hand is a beast and weighs over 4000 lbs and has a price tag to match.

    2016 RTV X1100C or Honda Pioneer 1000?

I was about to the pull the trigger on a brand spanking new 2015 RTV X1100C but since it was nearing the end of the 2015 model year, I decided to hold off and see if anything new would be announced for 2016. New for 2016 the RTV X1100C will have a front PTO option which will allow the use of...

    ULSD or Heating Oil?

I'm about to seal the deal on a new Kubota RTV X1100C and had a question on the grade of diesel fuel needed. I understand the importance of using ULSD on vehicles with modern exhaust emissions systems (DPF, SCR). The owner's manual on my Mercedes BlueTec SUV states that damage to the particulate...

    Buy now or wait?

I'm looking to purchase a new RTV X1100C but wondering if there is any advantage in waiting for the 2016 model year to arrive? As I understand the RTV line went through a refresh recently so I'm not expecting any significant upgrades to the upcoming new model year. I'm purchasing the RTV for...
