When I replaced the head on the 2005 I rechecked the bolts and found only one that needed additional torque. I thought I may have not torqued it right the first time. Pays to double check.

Glad you got it out. I replaced the head on a 2005 900 I had a while back and the one I bought had the raised plug on it. It would have been bad to damage a head that cost as much as they do.

A picture of that plug would help.

2WD is a lot less stress on machine. 900X rolls and handles more freely in 2WD. Just my 2 cents worth.

Are you talking about an internal spring or external? To me it has to be something that changed during the head replacement. Are you thinking it's getting to much fuel? Would it hurt to run it with the exhaust diconnected to test for exhaust retriction? Ran it for awhile today ran fine with the...

Head came in today [cast iron like original] . Replacing the head went well and cranked right up after bleeding at injectors. Let it run 30 min. Going to let sit over night and recheck head bolts and valve settings.
