    Howdy from Kentucky

Bill, the wife and I love to fish. We go every weekend and have been on vacation this past week, we fished most everyday. We caught a limit of channel cat this morning in fact (10 each). Our freezer is overflowing right now, need to haul another bunch up to my Mother. She loves catfish. Our...

    Mowing Equipment

Lots of Grasshoppers in NE Kansas, good machines, spendy but good. The biggest draw back to them (IMHO) is they are mowers and nothing else. A friend had a snow blade for his but it was useless in the snow. The dealer he bought his from let him trade for a new one every year for a small fee...

    What is Vinegar Good For?

Arthur Treacher's was the first fish and chips I ate, it was great!! We like Long John Silver's fish too. Corn starch is the secret to making a good batter, 1/2 corn starch, 1/2 flour, a couple of egg whites beat up and folded in last, the seasoning you want, and a warm beer. Pretty good on fish.

    Bush Hog JBI Project

I had never heard of Bush Hog tractors until I saw this post. Looks like a well built machine. They must have been regional and not popular in the midwest. Wheel Horse is somewhat like that as well, not many around this area.

    Riding mower?

Paul, I like the BCS lineup but found it to be very "spendy" by the time you purchase everything you need. They are tough little machines though.

    why I have been quiet

Brandi, hope you get feeling better, my allergies have been acting up some, being sick stinks. Especially when it's so darn hot. I might be down your way soon, rescuing the daughter that lives in Humble. Son-in-law is a jacka$$, looks like a divorce is pending. She and the kids will live...

    Riding mower?

Older Cub Cadets were very tough mowers, as are Wheel Horse, and some John Deeres. They were made much tougher in the 60's and 70's than the throw-away machines you see everywhere today. Something with an actual transmission and shaft drive are the best IMHO. Engine replacement is simple if...

    Diesel issue

My tractor had junk in the tank when it was new, I drained and flushed the tank and have never had anymore trouble. I reused the fuel, just strained it through a rag before putting it back in. There was a screen type filter in the tank outlet that I removed when I drained it. Might be worth a...

    New (to me) Tractor

Eric, I have a shuttle shift as well, I really like it, very good for loader work IMHO. Now if it were syncro, that would be the ticket.

    Iseki

My neighbor has a 2-32 White (I think I have the numbers correct), anyway, it is a 4wd and it has the Iseki engine in it. He swears that it is very common and parts are available. I had been on fire and burnt up all hoses, belts, etc. He wants $5000 for it and it's not running. It does have...

    Outdoor Sports Stuff

The wife and I fish a great deal. I like to be on the water at daylight and we usually leave when the ski boats and jet skis start showing up. It's usually getting hot by then anyway. We catch lots of channel catfish, last Sunday we had 16 with 5 of those between 6 and 8 lbs. That's how we...

    New (to me) Tractor

Eric, I have two 6' finish mowers and one is for sale, come and take a look. The 6' works real well behind my 28 hp tractor. I have a Jbar (4 sale) and a King Kutter that I use to mow with.

    Seat Belts & 4wd drive

Uncle Buck, I'm guilty of getting on my tractor without buckling up as well. Who gave the advice to always buckle up when you get on the tractor is correct, it would have kept you from this experience. Glad it all turned out well and no injuries. My yard is flat other than a couple of humps...

    New (to me) Tractor

Wind shield washer fluid works for loading the rear tires too and isn't harmful to animal if it leaks out. For rear ballast, I have seen folks use a 55 gallon drum, put a 3 point bar through it and fill it with concrete. Makes a cheap ballast box. I keep the 6' finish mower on mine all summer...
