Default JD 4020 D

Opinions please.

I'm looking at a 4020 D that has been stuck since 2008 in a sales yard, it is late 60's to early 70's with a front loader and is in rough condition but salvageable. Any ideas on price?

Thanks.......

Welcome to the forum!

If it doesn't run or move under its own power, I'd be very careful as you don't know what it'll take to get it running. A money pit if you will.

Hi Sameriton, and welcome to Net Tractor Talk.

BCzoom nailed it. We all want that 'good deal' but to often they turn into a money pit. Lots of experienced tractor guys have probably looked at this one that has been sitting since 08 and they all passed on it. Heck, even if they gave it to you I suspect you would have to put more money into it than it probably be worth. There are exceptions but if it were me I'd pass on this and find an older one that is already in running condition and hopefully has been well cared for.
Good luck.
