This is my first post and I'm looking at a John Deere 316 for $900. I'm still working out the details, but all of my resources for this tell me it's better than the 2007 La-140 that I just blew the engine on. This has the 18hp Onan with dual hydraulics. One for the deck and the other for the rear-snowblower,box, plow, etc. I am totallly new to this an other than hearing that the Onan is a great engine, but it's parts are higher than normal, I think it's a good deal. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.
Yes, of those 2 tractors (316 & LA140), the 316 is by far a better tractor. I've heard parts for the Onan are plentiful from one person and hard to get from another. In my opinion, based on the volume of those engines produced, I'd think parts are plentiful. You may want to check around to see who has parts just so you know where to go if you need something in a timely fashion. |

Welcome to our internet tractor forum! I'm glad you found us.
I 2nd BC. The 316 does indeed have the better rep. Sounds like a good deal to me. Good luck with it.
