Price increase from 9120 - 9230 - 9360r tractors

I currently own a JD 9120 and am thinking of trading up to a 9230. There seems to be a pretty steep price increase. The tractors seem pretty much the same, what am I gaining in the trade? Also the current 9360R is another steep jump in price. From the standpoint of dragging the same equipment around the field, how can one justify the price increases. Seems like these increases would be good for used tractor sales. Also, where could one find the repair histories on the 9120 compared to the 9230. For some reason there are a lot of 9230 tractors for sale on fastline and few 9120 tractors for sale. Is there a problem with the 9230's?

The biggest difference is horsepower. 9120 is 280 hp, 9230 is 325, and 9360R is 360. More horsepower = more money. Age is the next factor. 9120 can be up to 10 years older than the 9360R and the 9230 is between those. Each newer model also has more sophisticated electronics. Some nice features on the newer models. Another change that doesn't help you personally but is forced on the manufacturers is emissions controls. Costs the manufacturer more to meet emissions and those costs are passed on to the consumer. Nothing can be done about that.

Good point on the horsepower. I should have compared 9320 which has 375 hp. and might cost 150,000 to the 9360r which would run maybe 250,000. Still seems like a steep jump, for no more hp. As I said earlier, I believe the sky rocketing prices for a new tractor are causing the older models to maintain their value. In fact, as I check Fastline's prices on 9120 JD tractors mine is worth more now than when I bought it.
