OK guys, I keep getting paperwork through that I dont understand. If any of you guys could clarify the meanings of any of the following terms I would really appreciate it -
Pro forma, ex stock, lead time (time from ordering until delivery?), nett ex works

I've just been OKing stuff so far, but I figure I had better know what this stuff means.....

Cheers

Pro Forma = A written commitment from the seller to sell the goods to the buyer with specified prices and terms. It usually means they want payment before despatch too.

Ex stock = They have it on the shelf

Lead time (I hate this one) = You order something, they tell you lead time is 3 weeks... that means they wont be able to deliver for 3 weeks (or more)

Nett ex works = "Nett" = price is quoted without vat. "Ex-works" means delivery, packaging, handling is not included in price.

Thanks, makes a bit more sense now.

I ordered a valve with 2 weeks lead time. Emailed after 3 weeks with no word and was told it had been waiting for collection for 2 weeks. Jeez, nice of them to let me know!
