Temperature Gauge

Since its been getting cold outside we have been getting calls about the temperature gauge not working. The RTV has a large metal transmission and a heavy cooling system in the hydraulic loop. This holds the temperature of the engine and tranny down for a rather long time. Expect at least 20 minutes of run time before seeing any movement of the needle (170 degrees).

This will be added to the FAQ.

Thanks for the info!!!

Seems to be several things going around about the temp.

Gauges fogging
Gauges not registering (or low).
When it does get hot, the fan doesn't seem to come on.
The new (replacement) gauges have a smaller red zone. Are they saying it can run hotter than the original gauge stated or is it on some new scale?

The newest gauges out address the fogging issues. The fan will come on and it takes up to 30 mins. for it to kick in. 208F use to be the point the fan would kick in, but that was changed to 196F. The red zone on the temp gauge is basically just a new scale...the red zone was too big before and could read incorrectly and people would think they were over heating when they were not.
