Love that Amsoil.... Run it almost everything I own. The RTV is getting it next come service time....
I painted it prior to install & taped off the element first. I would think that paint on the element would flake off in the coolant - the small amount probably wouldn't cause any problems. But, I'd tape it anyway - don't forget to remove the tape before the install (lol).
