Thanks to all for your input. This site is an awesome source of RTV experience.

As suggested above I will mount the winch on the chipper. The feed wheel cover is about 1/4" thick, with 1/2" bolts holding it in place.

At this location the PU bed winch arm is long enough to reach over the feed table.

The chipper is not towed on public roads so the winch can remain in place until my clearing project is finished.

A 12" turbo diesel machine but I seldom chip trees over 6".

Mostly ash on the property, which is easy enough to load manually. Gum, oak, elm can be a struggle.

great exercise cutting them into lengths you can manually load. My chipper will only take brush (4 inches) I try not to drag anything through dirt or mud as I'm lazy when it comes to sharpen the blades ☺
