Here's a "Talk About Anything" thread

We just got back from luring the cows out of the neighbor's cornfield with the feed wagon.(1040pm,,.worked until 9 found out at 10p..... They were out on it about an hour and had a good supper out of it ... Thanks to the Lord we found out about it so soon and before morning... If not ...blek......now I'm going to sleep.......and pray they stay out till I can fix the fence better in the am... It has been one of those days all day.--.cow injured or broke her front leg etc ... But we were sure blessed with getting them out so easily tonight. collie

Glad in some ways that I am not raising any cattle this year. Have a lot of beef in the freezers yet and want to use it up before getting more. I had forgot about almost a full 1/4 in the one basement freezer. I am putting equipment under the barnyard roof instead. Finally got most of the garden planted over the weekend. It got miserable hot and muggy till the storms came through last night. With my health issues I seem to mind it more than I ever did before. Sure glad I have a big enough a/c system to keep it nice and cool in here.

Had some of the first strawberries from my plants this year. Man are they sweet and juicy. Lots of flowers yet so it should be good picking this year. Planted some more peas since the early ones had a mediocre germination. They are up and growing good but only about half came up. Going to be another late harvest this year.

We've been having storms every day but yesterday, with temps otherwise in the near 90 range and humidity higher than that. It feels more like a Florida midsummer than a normal northern Alabama summer. The mud is so bad on the property that the tractor just grows taller with racing slicks if I try to drive over the mud. Last time I saw summertime weather like this was in Jackson MS back in '60!

We picked up an old Massey Harris (nee Ferguson) disk harrow from My SIL's family farm Saturday, in pieces. At least all the pieces were there. Now comes the fun of getting it off the trailer in the middle of the mud, under the lean-to on the side of the shed. And later comes the fun of trying to reassemble it and get it working, then painting it. Only one bracket is broken, and needs to be welded and reinforced. Once it is fixed and painted, I'm sure the SIL will be happy to have it for many more years, especially since his grandfather bought it and used it so long. I've even found a manual for it, both as a Ferguson version and a MF version, which are virtually identical. Now if we can find parts for it!

It's awfully quiet out here. Where is everyone?

My RTV has been sitting for a couple weeks now. The week in Texas then rain since I've been home has kept it in the garage. Too wet for harvesting firewood.

I"m missing mine. Had work planned and a son in law coming to help ...then remembered, Oh yeah, it's still in the shop. they were a little backed up but so far I have not even got a call on it. That reminds me, think I'll give them a call NOW and see what I can find out.

LOL its summer,
I feel like hell with MS issues but cutting firefood right now.
No time to even go fishing or have fun at the moment.

Well, I called on my RTV. I got him to confirm it was there. The service guy who had worked on it is not there today but he was going to check with mgr and call me back. Still no call. He did suspect the worse from whatever he saw.

My RTV has been doing the usual spring duty of hauling rocks and yard and flower bed waste. With all the rain we have gotten this past week I am driving through standing water in places. Since it is finally clearing out I will be spraying fence line as soon as it is dry enough. Have some rocks to gather from an area I had disced a while back. Won't be making hay for a while either.

My RTV still hasn't been out doing anything.

Had the tractor out this morning. Used some clamps and attached a pair of 8' 2x6's to the bucket so I could lift plywood up to put roofing on my neighbors new building.

Just got done mowing the lawn and picking strawberries. Taking a break and trying to figure out what I want to do next.

My RTV has been helping me gather some of the poisonous milkweed pods out of the pasture. so far 8 more hours on the 'bota and about 200 lbs of pods.They are everywhere this year it seems. Butterfly folks don't worry... still plenty of milkweed left and I don't bother any cocoons if I find any..

Debated to or not to go to EDDIE MONEY CONCERT !!!
Finally, Gave in, and damn glad I did. ....

Time don't mean anything !!!
We went to the concert. It was SUPER. We had the time of our life !!! Concert on the edge of the Mississippi River, at the Casino.
He put on one hell of a concert. Before the show, we had VIP tickets along with "Meet & Greet". Spent about a hour with the man. He is such a
great guy. Just simple, polite and down to earth. We tried to make his "stay" comfortable. Didn't ask him all the questions all usally bombards him with.
Mostly, he ask us about things in general. And just talked about simple things, nothing really about "him". His crew took pictures of myself and wife along with Eddie. We took pictures as the same. Shared many laughs and ideas on life in general. What a fantastic time we had.
And the concert, was better than anyone could ask for. His voice has not changed a bit, and he has a superior band !!!! Music sounds like it did years ago, that is what was amazing !!!!

I Made him laugh so hard . He said the something in the area of, " This Mississippi River is beautiful here, be a nice place to promote music and such".
And I remarked, " Yes, and next time you do a Gieco commercial, maybe you can find room for the pig". He like to never stop laughing.
( My Wife liked to passed out, she could not believe I said that )
............ He's really a jolly man to be around !!!

I bet that was a blast two guns. Awesome. Looks like a small intimate crowd for the show. Those are the best. Wish I was there. I'm sure I would have enjoyed the whole scene. Thanks for sharing.

Scientists are mostly in agreement this could be a really bad thing. Especially to those who use solar panels, plants that photo-synthesize and any life forms that do not respond well to massive amounts of gamma radiation and level 814 G-Force shockwaves. Many scientists are wondering how much of a role global warming had to do with the sun's demise. Steven Hawking had this to say about the event - "****" and Miciu Kaku was reported as saying - "I warned you - but you wouldn't listen... poopy heads!."



The impact of this event will be closely tied to the impact of the level 814 G-Force shockwave racing toward the earth at 1 million miles per hour. Republicans are sure our magnetic field will protect us from the worst effects of the sun exploding at hypersonic speeds, and George W. Bush was quoted as saying "rebuilding our society will be good for the nation's pocketbook". President Obama has said that the earth has survived the sun going supernova many times in the past 1 trillion years and we will survive it this time as well. Tea Party members are looking for another sun to replace ours but are not sure it can be done before the next election cycle. The debate is ongoing on the Hill. In related news, the Japanese are and TEPCO are breathing a sigh of relief as the nuclear power plant in Fukushima continues to melt down to groundwater. The Japanese prime minister had this to say to reporters - "Building the earth so close to the sun wasn't a good idea."



U.S. Banks that are still receiving QE3 (Quantitative Easing 3) payments from the treasury are asking for payments to be made in neutrinos (tiny elements that can survive temperatures up to 1 million degrees) since gold will most likely melt into a vapor that will be difficult to exchange for currency that may also be melted into a vapor.

Does a printer cartridge get corrupt.
This is what I have happen to me ....


Black printer cartridge went empty. I went and purchased another. After installation, done what we all do. Run a test print. NOTHING. Even the color printer cartridge would not dispense ink. Looked a the ink levels, I know that the
color was less than a week old, and of course, the black was brand new. And by the ink level indicator. Both were full.

Would not do anything. Even after restarting and re-installing the drivers. NOTHING !!!!

So I went and purchased another printer that would use the same number cartridge. Both use the same number of color and black ink cartridge. So without wasting any ink, and the cartridges from the older printer was new. I put them into
the NEW printer and was going to save the ink cartridges that came with the new printer for when we need them, they would be here.

The new printer is a little more advanced. With the other cartridges from the other printer in the new printer, even though they were new. I kept getting a " PRINTER CARTRIDGE PROBLEM".

Done everything possible to run the new machine. And kept getting the Cartridge Warning indicator lights flashing. So that is when I decided to replace both ink cartridges that came with the new machine.

Swoosh !!!! The new printer started working.

Now, put the printer cartridges that came with the new printer in the old printer, the old printer works. Isn't that some crap !!!

My question is:

Being the older printer didn't have a warning devise like the new printer. Could the replacement Cartridges that I tried to replace in the old printer be corrupt. Does printer cartridges get some sort of " bad bug" in them.

Something is going on with the replacement cartridges. Yes, they were brand new HP's from the factory. I done the "cleaning thingy" with the printer AND done the alcohol / swab thingy also ...

Does anyone have some sort of answer.

Hi...this is Mrs. D&D. Sounds like you just got some bad cartridges. I have had this happen before. In fact, I had one leak out and destroy a $600 printer on our robotic duplicator. They have sensors in them and I would imagine those were defective or they were old and dry. You should try to take them back where you bought them and go for an exchange. Very frustrating when this happens.

Thank you much for the reply. This like to have drove me crazy.
I kinda felt like that witch that been down here in Louisiana for a many of years,
she goes by the name of "Marie Laveau", has crossed some frog bones and threw them at my printer.
But after reading your reply, that sound like that is the true problem. I will return them in the morning.
