Steering wheel moving out of position x1100 C

I recently installed a suicide knob to my steering wheel. I installed the knob so it was at the top of my steering wheel. After a while I noticed the knob was now on the left side of the steering wheel when going straight down the road. Right away I thought something was not tight. With the machine running I turned the steering wheel all the way until it stopped. I tried to force the steering wheel to turn more to see if something was slipping. I had to turn the wheel quite hard but it did turn. Took it out for a test drive the suicide knob was now at the bottom of a steering wheel. Is this normal I know the steering wheel in my car does not change positions

the steering is pure hydrostatic. uses the char-lyn principle. the ratio of the wheel isn't matched to the degree of wheel lock so the knob will randomly change positions on you. it is normal.
