I have a 245 dt tractor and have hardly ever had any problems but today my son was pushing snow and had problems with the shifter going into gear.He said it felt like he had to push down on it to move it and could hardly get it into any gear. Is there a pin that could have broken and would I have to split the tractor to fix it? Any Ideas?

Hi J. Welcome to Net Tractor Talk a little late. :tiphat:
I'm bumping this thread and hope someone will have an idea or two for you.
Have you had a chance to ride the tractor of figure it out since you posted here?

Welcome to the forum!

It sounds like the clutch plates may be stuck (or getting sticky).

I'd recommend keeping the clutch depressed (locked down to the floor) to stop this from happening.

Good thought Brian. I had a clutch freeze that way and we did have to split the tractor in two to get it unstuck. That was in a 1988 er so Mitsubishi 17hp.

Doc Thanks for responding but I was able to get the problem fixed. One of the shifting forks broke so got a new one and replaced was easier than I thought it would be. Thanks Again J.
