Engine oil light won't go off

I have a 2008 RTV 500. With approximately 500 hours. The engine oil light has come on. Both the hydraulic and engine oil are within the acceptable ranges When you press the gas the light gets a little dimmer.

Any information on how to fix this would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum!

Is the engine oil light related to pressure or oil level? I don't remember. If it's the latter, just whack the gauge (works for my speedo) and it'll behave normally.

If it's pressure, I'd change the oil and filter and see what happens.

I think it is related To oil pressure not the level. Probable why it gets dimmer when he gives it gas that increases the oil pressure. If the engine has no oil pressure its not safe to run it.

I hadn't thought about the filter. I bought the machine used from a dealer and was told it had been fully serviced. Turns out that the hydro trans fluid was way over filled so it could be the same type of thing with the filter

Any other possibilities?

Thanks for the welcome. Very glad I found this site.

I don't know about Kubotas but with my cars the first thing I would do is check the oil pressure with a gauge. The most likely issue is a bad sender or a wire off or grounded.
