first one i have seen. probably a modified cap for the high pressure relief valve. take the plug off from your HPRV and with a small magnet or pic remove the HPRV and see if it is adjustable. should be

I bought and installed one on my 900 couple years ago. Can't remember what it cost me. I think I did a thread here. Might search for it.

I love mine. One of the better, if not the best mod I've done.

Is it just the plug or do you have to buy the valve also? How long have you had it in?

It's just a plug. You take the old one out and replace it with the new one...5 minute job. Mine has been in since February or March of 2017. It's well worth it if you're tired of getting launched into the windshield.

Question - someone told me that you did not need a coast plug if you had an x900 or x1120...basically an x model. But I can tell you, especially when God-children drive us, its a neck snapper.

For those of you with X models, what was different after installing the plug?

My kids would hit the windshield when I would let up on the throttle before I installed it. Now they only hit it when I mash the brakes:yum:

Only owners that haven't installed one will say it's not needed. I've never heard an owner that has one say it's not needed. :)

interesting. i own a 2007 model 1100 and a 2014 X1100c. on the older one before i installed a coast valve it would stop abruptly so i installed a coast valve in it to make it perform more like the 2014 X1100. my X1100 will coast to a stop but not quite as soft as the 2007 with the valve. there must be some variances in the way they are set at the factory.

i need to look at mine but i think the aluminum seal has been removed. i wonder if it has been adjusted? because it stops very softly:thankyou2:

There's a thread on here about adjusting rather than replacing. Can't remember who started though.

unless i missed it the old thread is for the older non X models. but i would bet there is an adjustment probably using the stem under that aluminum seal. on the older transmission you could remove the valve from under the plug and ajust the spring tension.

been looking at the oil flow schematics and diagrams. there is a special valve called the dynamic brake relief valve and there is an instruction on it's adjustment or replacement in the WM. from the previous photo's of the valve cap and plug i think the new plug replaces the cap and stem on the High Pressure relief valve and the dynamic brake valve is unaffected. could you please scan the instructions that came with your coast plug?

To be honest, I don't recall if mine came with instructions. Here's a few pics of it and original. I'm sure you could rip the old one apart and adjust it to match the aftermarket one now that I'm looking at them.
