Time to replace the front axle RTV900

Well....my '04 RTV900 is in need of a new front axle after I noticed the boot has busted in half. I can't complain as she is 14 years old and not had any major issues.

My question is that which axle to buy? They are so cheap that it doesn't make sense to repair the boot alone. I see them on eBay from $60 for a Caltric brand to $104 for an American CV. They all have a 5 star rating. Forget about going to the dealer for a price.

So....would you gamble on the cheap one? Has anyone bought from eBay and what are your thoughts?

In my dealings , you can't trust all of the reviews.. especially if the grammar is odd. Do they offer a warranty ? If I remember, I ordered my boots from American CV for the '05 I had - but that was over 6 years ago and sold back then. Lots of merchandise I've seen are just rebadged and the same product so maybe someone else will check in. Do you have a link to those you are looking at? bordercollie

Thank you for the links Tact. Those are good to have on the forum. Last year, I searched and searched on e bay along with Mark Sibole for these and they weren't to be found. I knew they were there earlier that year and then nothing was to be found of them on e bay for some reason.
I read on one of the links that there was a decent 1 year warranty , add the neoprene boots and heavy duty components = sound good to me in that same ad .
Good Luck :) bordercollie

I do ATVs, bikes, and Side by sides as a hobby for many years.
i had a problem with multiple sources for CV boots (ebay included), even had one quad fail, both new boots tore within 2 weeks of install, had to eat that one.
I now single source whenever I can from AmericanCV. really happy with their stuff.

And their axles are premium, and very fair priced. Better than stock. I highly recommend.
