Under certain circumstances, the hood (in the serial number ranges below)</p> <p align="left">can become detached during operation resulting in personal injury to the driver and/or</p> <p align="left">passenger.</p></font><font face="TimesNewRoman" size="4"> <p align="left">DO NOT DELIVER AN RTV900 WITHOUT PERFORMING THE</p> <p align="left">REQUIRED INSPECTION/REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE</p> <p align="left">OUTLINED IN THIS MANDATORY CAMPAIGN</p></font><font face="TimesNewRoman"> <p align="left">Each RTV dealer will receive a campaign notification that describes the full details of the</p> <p align="left">inspection/replacement procedures. This notification will include a list of all units retailed</p> <p align="left">by the dealer that are included in this campaign. Each retail customer will receive a</p> <p align="left">separate notice directing him or her to contact his or her selling dealer for immediate</p> <p align="left">inspection/replacement of the RTV900 hood.</p> <p align="left">This Campaign Bulletin, PSB-2004-043, is being finalized with complete details of the</p> <p align="left">campaign. Inspection/replacement procedures are fully explained and the units covered</p> <p align="left">by the campaign are identified. For quick reference, the following RTV900’s are</p> <p align="left">involved in this mandatory campaign:</p></font><font face="TimesNewRoman"> <p align="left">Units with serial numbers from 10001 up to 13084</p> <p align="left">These units require a replacement bonnet, no inspection required.</p> <p align="left">Units with serial numbers 13085 up to </font><font face="TimesNewRoman" color="#ff0000">25883</p></font><font face="TimesNewRoman"> <p align="left">These units must be inspected to determine if bonnet replacement is required.</p></font>

To find the primer-applied surface on Recreational (camouflage) models: </p>
  1. </font><font face="Tahoma" size="3"> <p align="left">
  2. 1. Remove the bonnet from the machine.

    </p> <p align="left">
  3. 2. Look at the surface of the underside of the bonnet under bright light. The primer can be clearly seen around the hinge brackets and latch pin. The texture of the bonnet surface will have changed around the hinges IF the primer is present. The primer will feel sticky or tacky.

  4. 3. If primer is not present, or </font><font size="3"><font face="Times New Roman">if the entire surrounding area of the hinge bracket or latch pin surface is not fully covered </font></font><font face="Tahoma" size="3">with primer, please replace the bonnet.

    To find the primer-applied surface on Turf, Worksite, and General Purpose models: </p>
    1. <font face="Tahoma" size="3"> <p align="left">
    2. 1. Remove the bonnet from the machine.

      </p> <p align="left">
    3. 2. Locate a No. 2 pencil and paper.

      </p> <p align="left">
    4. 3. Color a section of paper with the pencil. <p align="left">
    5. 4. Rub your finger on the paper to get graphite on your fingertip. <p align="left">
    6. 5. Rub graphite around the hinges and latch pin. The primer will clearly stand out against the orange bonnet. The texture of the bonnet will have changed around the hinges brackets and latch pin if primer is applied. The primer will feel sticky or tacky.
