Is there a comparable estimate of fuel consumption available? For
instance, I drive a VW TDI that does about a gallon per hour at highway
speed or 50 mpg or I could dig into the literature and specify
milligrams of fuel per stroke (www.tdiclub.com).

I've selected the RTV900 for use on a small island and am intrested in
some measure of specific consumption. As transportation, miles
per gallon at 25 mph? As 'utility', snowplow hours per gallon?

Thanks and now I'll try to lurk quietly.

Good question, small tractors typicaly do about a gallon per hour when running wide open. Obviously its going to depend on your driving habbits. If crusing at a constant full throttle I'd guess about a gallon per hour - if stop and go its going to be much less.

First, welcome to the forum.

My experience has been that I get about 2 hours/gallon of fuel. Mixture of driving speeds, hauling heavy loads, up and down hills...
