Hi guys
I just wanted to let y'all know about a free redirect site that can shorten long urls into a more manageable size. Sometimes links get broken when a long url is posted and a word wrap function breaks it into more than one line. Sometimes, if it doesn't break it into multiple lines, the page winds up being wider than the viewable screen size when viewed (not the case here). This site: http://tinyurl.com/#hide will shorten a bazillion character (I don't know the actual limit, if there is one) url in to one 25 or so characters long.
It sure beats copying and pasting several lines of address. I know I've posted a bad link by missing a character or two.(years and years ago - really ). But that was back when Al Gore and I invented the internet. You can also use it to hide the final url address in emails and postings.
Instructions for use are at the site. You can also make a browser toolbar button that makes it really easy to use.
It has made life much easier for me.
Ted
PS Doc if this is in the wrong place please move it.
