Using a trencher questions

Hell no, Doc. "Best laid plans" and all. It finally stopped raining here yesterday. When I went to the rental place earlier this week, Monday I think it was, he asked me if the area was wet. I said sure, it has standing water on it now because it's been raining so much. He told me I'd be wasting my money then, that the trencher would just spin tires even though it's 4WD.... so we planned for yesterday, but the water was still there, so I called him back and said I'll call him in later, in the spring or maybe even summer....
There go my plans of wanting to do it while the ground was still semi-frozen and not a quagmire. I'm glad I had the stone dumped pretty much out of the way anyway.
I also told him they should get one of those Cormidi untis. Those things are sweet! I spent my rain time Googling trenchers and came across these, which you can get a trenching attachment for.
Now who doesn't want one of these? lol

Well, here's an update on my getting and using a trencher
I figured this would be pretty handy to have, once I get past that "learning curve" I've read about. Clean the creek so it doesn't overflow, dig my trenches, I've got big plans for this baby, including the idea that I'd like to put in a small pond. Maybe even an ornamental one up front by the house.

Thanks guys. I can't wait to mess around with it some more and get a feel for it. I could have sat on it all night, but dinner needed started, and I like to eat (lol). The way it's been raining here every other day, this project is never going to get done if I have to wait for the ground to dry before renting a trencher. Now I can trench at my leisure, which works well for me. And that's what I'll keep telling myself to justify buying one ;^)
