RPM meter

I have a new TYM300 and today when I sterted her up the RPM meter did not move at idle and only came up to 1000 when wide open. I let it idle for a while to warm up and then shut her down, restarted her again and the meter worked ok. Is this a prelude to failure you think?

A one time anomaly may not mean a potential failure BUT I would keep an eye on the gauge. I have a T353HST and had a similar hickup with the fuel gauge once but not since. A call to your dealer to talk with the mechanic may put your mind to rest. Thank goodness for a 5 year warranty!

Well I called the dealer and he did indicate that he had one similer instance when the grease got cold and it effected the magnet some how. He said to keep and eye on it to see if it happens again.
