The New CC-Yanmar

Since Yanmar and John Deere's long and successful relationship has come to an end, it seemed like NO time before someone with good business sense approached the Japanese engineers with a New and hopefully lucrative proposal.

This may be old news to some and somewhat of a surprise to others:

Cub Cadet and Yanmar officially entered into a partnership earlier this year, to build compact and sub-compact tractors. The dealers are awaiting their shipments that should arrive in early August.

Below is a picture of the new EX3200 (and if you're a JD fan you may notice many similarities between the new CC-Yanmar and the model 790 JD.....(OK, Huge similarities except for the black color :)!)

Perhaps I should have stated subtle differences. I had another picture of a JD 790 that sits posing very much like the above picture of the CC-Yanmar. The dash, loader and arms, ROPS, seat, wheels/tires and bucket are almost identical....(but I can't find that picture anywhere)

I have no figure$ on what the price may be...but I would guess it WILL come as a basic unit at rock bottom prices OR fully equipped with many optional ancillary items as standard and priced lower than the competition (?).

One thing is for sure...it IS the Yanmar wolf in the CC sheep's clothing and I seriously doubt it will have any of the usual problems associated with introducing a new tractor or model line.

Mark,
The 790 is a basic "get the job done" tractor. I would venture to say the CC-Yanmar will maybe have more creature comforts and doo-dads to appeal to more people.

That sure looks like a nice unit. With Yanmar as a partner, they will be top quality machines. Will Deere be using their own engines from now on or will they contract out to some other manufacturer? I found a website about the new machine if anyone is interested. Not too much info yet, but better than what I could find.

JayC,

Just read this morning about a person who attended an exposition and the CC-Yanmar, as presented with FEL, tractor fully featured (Bells-whistles??) with 32 flywheels hp, listed for $16K. So, ...it's not cheap or ridiculously expensive either.

Ultimately it will be the owners reviews that will make or break the tractor IMHO.

My understanding, and from reading company releases early last year, John Deere will be building their own engines and out sourcing some to Mannheim, Germany. As you can see from the following list, JD builds, assembles and imports many models from their foregin manufacturing plants...

Well I saw one tonight at the Dayton Fair. Nice tractor! They have been out 3 weeks. Salesman said they plan 12 models from 25 HP to 45 HP. The 25 is next out. List price for a EX3200 hydro is $15,400 without the MMM option. They have sold 2 with loader for $16,500.

Great BD. Nothing like actually being there and seeing the real McCoy.

I hope that salesman was correct about the mid 20's HP model...I was thinking (before the EX3200 surfaced) that they would start out small, test the market in the gentleman farmer/rancher demographics and monitor the sales results.

But, if your used to domestic tractors in the 50-100 HP range than the EX3200 would seem comparatively small LOL.

The salesman said his district rep has seen the 25hp and said it was really appealing. It's to be the next one out, waiting patiently ..........

Now for a little critque and please be aware I AM the Kioti moderator.

Apples to apples and considering the Kioti CK30HST has 2 less HP, I'll list my observations:

The EX appears to have the conventional Yanmar hard square metal fenders with the modern CC front ends. Just looks a little out of sorts. The Kioti has fiberglass composite fenders.

CC Yanmar = 32 HP, 25 PTO HP, Kioti = 30 HP, 22 PTO HP

The Kioti is a "beefer" tractor. Drive train, rear axle and front differential are a good bit larger than the CC. Overall size the Kioti is bigger.

Weight: Kioti = 3,055lb, CC Yanmar = 2,550

Kioti has a larger hydraulic capacity.

Kioti has telescopic 3 point hitch ends

Operator area is a bit larger on the Kioti

The CC Yanmar has a smaller turning radius

Kioti has a larger FEL and 3-point lift capacity

Both offer the MM PTO option

Kioti has a cup holder ............ :yum:

All in all, and I am bias, the Kioti would definitely be a viable option to the CC Yanmar. They both come it at very comparable prices. The JD 3120 is roughly $2800 more.

Here is a copy of the handout supplied from the salesman ..........

Big Dog, isn't this actually a better, quicker and easier explanation of the differences between the Kioti and the Yanmar tractors? :yum:

:sorry: I could not resist as these two came to mind with your critique. :hide:

Nah.............. a little to much differential in weight!

The tractor weight differential is about 20% heavier. Your post indicated 300%, bad representation ........ :yum:

Reported in the Aug 16th Atlanta Journal and Constitution: (paraphrased)

Yanmar is building its second plant in Adairsville - a $20 million
project that will create 200 jobs. The 240,000-square-foot plant on 70
acres will be used to assemble agricultural utility tractors and
construction equipment. The existing Yanmar plant in Adairsville makes
marine engines and small industrial engines.

"We plan to make Adairsville, Georgia the new base for our North
American operations", said Yanmar America President Akihiko Nakaoka.

Adairsville is a small town about sixty miles north of Atlanta just off
of I-75.

Wallyp,

Welcome aboard! These things are great toys (er tools), no?

I started by looking for a YM1500D or similar, but what I found was a YM240 (US version YM2000) so I got that instead. They are all good.

I am glad to see Yanmar return to the US ag market through this new CC partnership.

How did you learn about this forum?

Welcome Wally! I'm glad you found us.
Good post. I'm also glad they are building a plant here in the US and creating jobs. Maybe the US companies can learn something from these guys. :hide:
