here are some pictures of some bed rails i just finished for a forum member they are 48"long and 7"high. they are made with fome heavy iron just one side weighs about 30lbs this ain't no thin walled tubig. the side and top is mafe with 1"tubing and the bottom 1 1/2 angle iron . the exspansion metal 3/8. i can make them to whatever hieght is needed i can also make them this size with some mounting hole to add an section when extra hieght is needed. if you need to carry something like a chainsaw or weed eaters i have the attachments to mount to it to carry them.

Nice looking sides. Why make them so heavy duty? You're bolting them to some flimsy metal on the factory bed sides. The bed sides are my biggest disappointment on my machine.

can't help the weight of them that's what happens when you use iron. as for as the side being weak i am thinkin of an answer to that one. i think i'm gonna add two pieces of tubing to each side something that will slide into the sockets that are on the rtv bed and slide into the ends of the bed rails that way they will be bolted to the top and also connected to the bed by the sockets.if you want a heavy duty bed just send me your bed and i'll make you a real bed for the rtv. as soon as i can get my hands on an rtv i'll be changing alot of stuff on it. like a metal hydraulic tank instead of the plastic ones. a rear bumper for sure and a new front bumper for it also.not to mention a bed that has removable side to convert it into a flatbed when needed. i use iron not thin wall tubing like the major manufacture do and thats what adds the weight. it might be heavy but i bet it will last for the life of the rtv and maybe longer.

Peanut, I love these, like a picture of them mounted. I never liked the idea of using wood on the sides, expanded metal looks great and should function well. One day I would like to make a whole new bed using square tubing, diamond plate, etc. I use my machine to do work and would like to incorporate racks for trimmers, chainsaws, water jugs, cooler for food etc. Keep me posted! In addition I will be designing an aux hydraulic system that will be much cheaper than the Kubota system.

Keep up the good work, they look fantastic!!

i talked to edwin yesterday nd he got them installed he told me they are really sturdy and stronge . going off of just measurements i figured he would have to trim a bit off but he told me all he had to do was just a little trimming and they fit right on. i also made him some stiffners out of 1" solid iron that slide into the sockets on the bed and into the bed rails to help the rails suport loads being pushed on them and he said you won't have any trouble with them pushing against them i a haven't yet seen the install pictures yet i am waiting just like you but i'm hopeing he'll get them up today.
