Installing Skid Plate/Hitch Extension on 1120D

As you RTVX owners already know, the all-important receiver hitch is somewhat recessed under the transmission rendering it useless to some of us.

UTV Hitchworks has fabricated a piece that provides skid plate protection for the trans and extends the receiver to a useable position.

One note - that company recently started stamping its name in these pieces and I did not like that. I don't mind helping out a small outfit but it was just a little much.

Fortunately, I found one at my dealer that still has the manufacturer's sticker rather than the name stamped in the steel.

It was about $200 and I saw one banged up on ebay for $100 but I went for the new one.

I have attached the assembly pictures - it could not have been easier, just four bolts and I am very pleased with the outcome. One note - as you are inserting the hitch pin into the extension, it may be necessary for lift the piece up and down until the holes line up. So hold off tightening everything until last.

Among it other missions, our RTV will be used to pull a DR bush hog to keep that keeps our trails and meadows clear. The trails were wide enough for the Foreman but looks like we have some widening to do this winter for the RTV.

I hope this helps someone.

Looks good and functional.
Idle curiosity, with the 900 I will probably never have a X1120, will the plate with the decals and rear bumpers fit over the new hitch and plate?

I don't THINK it will, with mine the new shaft was about a 1/4 inch to long, I removed the rubber bumpers and installed the new one over the Kubota plate, the other option would have been grinding off a 1/4 inch on the new shaft
