Semi-Metallic Emergency Brake Pads for the Polaris Ranger

Hi Folks: As you might know The Polaris Rangers had very weak and short lived emergency brakes before 2008. The emergency brakes are so weak that you can not always tell when they are on. So sometimes you inadvertently take off with the e-brake on. My e-brake wore out after about 50 hours and I was reluctant to spend good money on another set of brake pads that would wear out so quickly. So I went ahead and finished my Semi Metallic E-Brake Mod.
With this Mod you can use all the stock E-Brake parts including the metal from the pads.
I start with a used set of brake pads off the rear of a 98 Volvo Cross Country and a worn out set of Ranger E-Brake pads. I use a plasma cutter to cut a notch for the Volvo pads and MIG welded them together and voila you have semi-metallic pads on stock Ranger parts. I used worn pads because they are not too thick (and free). If you use new pads you will have to get some longer bolts and sleeves because the new pads are way too thick. I had the used pads laying around but you could go to a brake shop and find some used pads. Take your worn out Ranger pads along to compare to the scrap pads. Many other small cars with rear disc brakes will probably work with out much grinding.
Here is a detailed video that explains everything. I posted it on YouTube.

I would like to see pictures or video of your efforts to reproduce this MOD. I would especially like to see any innovations you might come up with.
Please Comment, share and "Like" my videos.
Thanks, Mars
P.S. A picture is worth a thousand words and a 10 minute video has about one hundred thousand pictures in it.
