My version of a backup light

You guys got me thinking, made me spend a little money and take on a worthwhile project. I often back out of the garage at night and usually my car is in the driveway, requiring me to navigate around it. If it's dark and the headlights are on, there is glare looking thru the rear glass, showing the image of the wall. It is bright and really obscures your rear vision. I have the reverse beeper and it was really a no brainer to tie in a LED unit. I like Hella products and they have a 6" light bar that is perfect.

The bracket is 2.0 x 1/4 flat stock bent past 90 deg by 11 degrees. It bolts to the frame rail and no drilling was needed on the vehicle, only on the bracket.

The light draws 2.6A. Link I have the larger one tucked into the grill. It is most impressive. Link to front light bar I made brackets that use the bumper bolts. It fit perfect. MSRP pricing is high. Far better pricing can be found on Amazon and auction sites.

The test was tonight, backing out to restock my firewood. It works great

This is what I did! I didn't have the reverse beeper, but I purchased the switch and bracket and placed my reverse light exactly where you did. It is so nice to have it come on automatically. I have a rear work light that is wonderful, but having the light come on in reverse is really nice. Good work.
