My bil only uses JD hyd and engine oils in his tractors. He's had JD tractors since the 1960's. We still have the 2 original 4020s . and have 3 others much newer , 2 of which have the unappealing dpf . The cheap oils can cause misery with wear . It's like the Clint Eastwood movie... "for a...
I'm getting there Doc. Finally getting on medicare in Nov and ditching my ridiculous 4 digit premium to UHC that's almost half my salary. Whew... I love the forum and appreciate the hard work you and Zoom do. Count me in and don't worry about sending anything as postage is outrageous nowadays...
I can't remember the details but remember the careful grinding/sanding down to alter. Like I mentioned, I'd never do it that way again. I wish you the best.
Thank you Aurthuritis. I did the rears on the 05 I had ,and used some aftermarkets ujoints that member Mark S sibole recommemded. That was in the first ujoints post I did, and I had to alter them a bit. I'd never ever do that again though. I had to use a hydraulic press to get the old ones...
We bought a glass door for our JD tractor off of e bay and saved $$ even with shipping. Also bought one for the Cat 262D3 there and saved several hundred $ by passing dealer. Same quality as original and fit perfect.
I went to e bay and snooped around for this. I was surprised at the $$ of...
I used that idea on my 2005 2 pc shaft. If I remember right, it involved adding a piece of rubber hose to act as a damper between the 2 pc haft and the joint . The single piece is different . I no longer have my last 2011 RTV so would try jacking it up and wiggling everything by hand.
I can't remember exactly how I did this but thinking back, I rotated the shaft back and forth as I pushed it in. Thinking it was sort of like a combination lock as the many gear plates moved as I wiggled the shaft as I pushed it in. I don't remember like I once did though.
It looks like the 3 ph lift illuminated. Did you check the fluids to make sure that the rebuilder added fluid? ? Probably did but was just making sure.. I usually go by the old saying "never trust nobody".
I see that that is an orange tractor. Our big John Deere had one of those on the side in a metal can type holder and was hard to get loose we we got the warning it needed changing.. Sorta looks like an old metal oil filter can type filter . I 'm think Messick's would have a diagram of the...
If that fails, Have you tried to rotate/wiggle the blades by hand ? I once got a stick stuck in my blades, it killed the mower and I had to wiggle the blades loose to get it out of gear. Thinking this model has a slip clutch ?
