A small update. I decided to get the possibly cracked motor under the microscope, and it just seems to be discolouration on the surface of the metal.

Here are some pictures of the Auxiliary motor / swash plate and bearing. I did notice what I thought may have been a crack in the block? not sure if that's possible. It could just be a scratch. Again there seems signs of corrosion or perhaps a heat mark? on one of the bores. I can also see wear...

Here are some pictures of the main motor and bearing. I did notice there seems to be some stain marks on it, but nothing I can feel with a fingernail. Not sure if anyone can see anything obvious like signs of wear or anything.
