    chainsaw mill

If you notice I am not cutting lenthwise and the saw is cutting across the grain not with the grain. Chainsaw chains are made to cut across the grain like I am doing. You just have to go slow. They do make a chain for this now but I have never used one.

    My winch won't fit.

I hope this pic will give an idea. This is a hydraulic system, but I do have one with a 10,000lb electric for my 2610 Kioti. This tractor also has one built into the loader frame. It is there permanently. I do a lot with logging now and then, or at least used to. Retired now.

    My winch won't fit.

In my personal opinion, winches are one tool I have on mine when there is nothing else on the 3pt. Keeps the arms from hitting the tires and with the receiver handy for moving trailers and whatall it just makes it handy. I don't care for one hanging out behind as it leaves the winch open to...

    tracked dozer

Putting tracks on a tractor is not hard. I had a problem with hawthorns. I was mowing a large acreage and those things go through tires with ease. Wound up making tracks for it and no more issues. What I did was take 8in channel, cut it a bit wider than the tire, an inch or so, lie them...

    chainsaw mill

yes, the saw in that pic is a bit under powered. It was pulling hard but just dust coming out. I put a bigger saw on with full complement teeth and it brought chips. The thing about cutting straight across grain it comes out hard. Saws are made to crosscut. Even lengthwise you can do ok...

    chainsaw mill

Been thinking of a decent way to cut logs for a cabin. I came up with a system that I can take both sides off a log then cut it down the middle to make to half logs out of one to stack. The inside will be a flush wall with the outside looking like a normal log cabin. It also makes good...

    3 Point Wench Attachment

realizing this is an old post, but thought I would bump it up a bit with some real pics. this is an easy one, but you get the idea. Most of the time if I can get up close I just use a set of tongs on the hook. Being able to lift them up keeps the dirt out for the mill. I know the loader is a...

My CK20S is a Work Multiplier Cutting Wood (Skidder)

Mother's idea of getting the wood in. She is just using the tongs on this one. Just tossed the ring over the ball of the easy lift reciever. That 10,000 electric is handy.

I have run manuals most of my life. Have used the hydrostat on large dozers and it is true to them all a light hand is better for pushing. Not to downgrade any tractor, but the best all around tractor I have had was a 336D yanmar. The transmission was the best I have had. It had four ranges...

    TO-30

My to 30 pto has to be in gear for the pump to work. If you look, there are threads for a cap to cover the pto when not being used. That way the pto can turn without a safety problem. I have put an overrunning clutch on mine as I do a lot of mowing with a brush hog. This is something that...

    kioti ck20s

I was using her tractor for a bit and found that in low range the hydrostat would stall out. I was surprised that it wouldn't spin in four wheel when I tried to use the loader lifting and pushing at the same time. I have the turf tires on and even they wouldn't lose traction. Just used to...

    clutch on M-F 135

It has a dual clutch. part way down for the tractor and the rest for the pto. Sounds like it is stuck to the flywheel. start it in high range 2nd gear on level ground. It will move when you hit the starter so have lots of open ground in front of you. Hold the clutch in while you hit the...

    Roming "Pets"...killin' others animals

I don't know about donkeys, but there is a note somewhere on the web about a couple that were riding a mule with a couple of dogs in tow. They came up on a cougar. They both slid off the mule, she had a camera and started snapping. The cougar went for the dogs and that mule caught it by the...

    kioti ck20s

Just bought one today for the wife. She was whining that my 50hp Jd was a bit much for the lawn. Was going to get the gear model, but it was too fast for tilling in my opinion. Now to find a pink greasegun.
