    RTV900 CAN'T SHIFT INTO REVERSE

Good day, Kenmur. I feel your pain. I have a 2010 RTV 1100 with the same affliction. If there is any pressure on the blade pushing against the unit, it becomes very cranky regarding shifting. In this particular situation, what works for me is to push the blade down and actually lift...

Blizzard 720 LT Plow on RTV 1100

We had two major dumps of snow in the last little while. Old Cecil (the diesel) never even broke a sweat. I'm mighty impressed with how much snow this little guy will push. All is working fine. Just sold my snowblower so that can go into my motorcycle fund. Thanks for the comments. RR

    Yukon

Hey, no worries, WC. It is an interesting name. Not unlike the Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump Interpretive Centre also in Alberta. A few years back, the Canadian government produced a great number of high gloss maps in order to promote one of their no doubt questionable endeavors, and they...

    Yukon

Roger that. Medicine Hat is maybe 2,500 miles away from Whitehorse. We likely won't see that turbo kit, even on a clear day. It's okay ... I once had a postal clerk in Vanderhoof, B. C., upon being handed a letter to Dawson City, Yukon, ask me .... "Is that in Alaska" ??? What can...

Blizzard 720 LT Plow on RTV 1100

10-4 Thanks for the info. It's looking like a teaspoon will suffice for snow removal around here so far this year. I'm okay with that, but know it likely won't last. I'm taking my RTV 1100 (Cecil the Diesel) in for a 100 hour warranty service this morning. He's had a pretty easy life...

Blizzard 720 LT Plow on RTV 1100

Good day, Onfoot. As I recall, you previously mentioned that you had a snow blower for your machine. Might I inquire as to the make and model, and does it use the same basic hydraulic set-up as the blade? Thanks. If I'm wrong about the snowblower, I'll just chalk it up to being an old...

    Wench for Christmas??????

10-4 to that, Onfoot. They are referring to something that will give a minimum resistance other than it's actual weight. Like a vehicle on wheels. Dragging logs which would be pulled "on end" is a whole 'nother story. I don't know how you would calculate that. But you could use...

    Snowing in September

That "bass" comment was cruel and unusual punishment. We are supposed to see some sun today before the world turns to white again on Monday. Raining this morning. Oh well, we had a lovely summer and an extraordinary fall. I guess we deserve this. Thanks for the snow blower info...

    Snowing in September

The snowblower is an impressive unit. Do you feel you need both? If you had to go with one or the other, which would it be ?? I couldn't justify both at the time, but perhaps in my future. RR

    Snowing in September

No kidding. But then they are almost always off. I've always wondered what kind of bottle they spin in Edmonton or wherever they forecast our weather from. I was building a little add on garage to house my 1100 in when the snow hit. Ewwww Oh well, we'll get it done sooner or later...

    Snowing in September

I can vouch for that. Same nonsense here, about 8 miles south of Whitehorse. Wet, heavy stuff. I got to plow my driveway about three times. Just got my blade put back on in time. Lucky me .... I guess. Supposed to warm up again, but the lying weather vermin don't really know much...

    New 1100 cranky start/Bed won't lift

It's all good now. Turns out I had to connect two of the three hoses that were supplying the hydraulic blade uint up front. The manual indicated which two. I guess it completed the circuit. I mentioned it to the Kubota dealer and he wasn't aware that was necessary, either, but it clearly...

    New 1100 cranky start/Bed won't lift

Point taken. Only two of the many things at which I excel in knowing nothing about. But at least I won't repeat that particular hydraulics mistake again. As an old aquaculture instructor once told me ..... "You are going to occasionally kill fish. But never kill fish the same way...

    New 1100 cranky start/Bed won't lift

Well folks, you will be pleased to know that I have, upon your guidance and support, corrected the problem. I once again perused the operator's manual (Duh !!!!!) and found that it is indeed necessary to reconnect two out of the three hoses to each other. This obviously completes the circuit...
