4200 Changed oil,flushed radiator,filled antifreeze ,tractor would not start, finally starts but alot of smoke,doesn't sound right,not over heating but knocking,let it run ,get big bang and piece of metal flies off,oil leaking

any additives work for unfreezing

will not move. was fine when parked several warm months ago, it has been freezing for weeks, I added fluid still no transmission or hydro related movement,warmed engine states fine ?????

I hit a rock with mower now getting grinding noise, checked belts and blades but seems normal. Engaged PTO and engine stalls,spindle not loose but blade will turn by hand.

My mower cranks when the battery is connected. the key is not turned on or clutch engaged. I changed spindles for blades and every thing was good now starts as stated.

not dealing with it now,see what the options are next season.I definitely will not buy JD again

I talked to someone at JD he backed up the dealers lie and said it was not a engine defect, I will see what Kawasaki sz but sometimes after being jerked around long enough it is what it is. Oh the same driver asked about buying the mower since he"had an engine" when he bought it back

dealer said not covered not engine defect and engine was run without oil,yes by the pickup driver on to truck,anyway never will take to jd dealer again.I had problem with another so changed location,same crap over another tractor,thanks for the info,so I will find an engine

I will check those out,block has hole in side and oil leaking.is there something that can be repaired.someone who knows welding and mechanics said must replace but 2d opinions experience may differ.I know how to get it to a shop.Not dealer Of course mower is still under warranty.dealer said oh...
