    2006 RTV 900 rear differential

I forget the torque I used but crank down on the nut on both sides real good and see if it will pull now and or have someone watch the nut when you try to get the machine to move.

No 12VDC on RTV900 Electric System

I am with bczoom that your cables are the problem, there plugged up. Fact is your present problem started after you changed the battery out. When you used the jumper cable to test yourself did you clamp onto the outside of the clamp at the battery, the resistance could be caused by the crud on...

    2006 RTV 900 rear differential

You should first check that the rear hubs haven't stripped out the splines that hold the hub to the axel shafts secure. On my 900 I found the large nuts were loose allowing looseness to grind away at those splines, everyone should check this. I have been wrong before.

    2011 RTV900 Transmission

Ill take a stab at it, on my 900 I found the nuts that holds the rear wheel hubs to the axel shafts were loose. If they run long enough that way the splines grind off.

need a new chain saw ??

Find a small airport and ask them if you can buy fuel from them, 100 low lead they call it, will not go stale and best of all will not harm fuel lines and carb internals. You will need to readjust the mixture screws a little. Does not cost much more per gallon, good stuff.

need a new chain saw ??

Depth gauges. I was shown by a fella that cuts a lot of wood how he goes about getting all of the depth gauges set and it is very important to get them the same or you will end up with a bouncing bar. Take a short straight piece of something and lay it on top of the highest part of the tooth...

    Brake fluid change.

I got a bike or two and in that world they preach every year if not every other, I watch the fluid color. It depends on how any machine is treated to some degree as to when it really needs to be changed out. I have the set up ready, clear tube to fit over the bleeder and an old tall whiskey...

    Brake fluid change.

Had some time in the shop so I thought I would go after the brake fluid change on my 2006 RTV 900. Pulled the front wheels to find a cap that is held down by a bolt that a 10 mm wrench fits and under that are the bleeders. Then on both frame rails on the rear are the bleeders for the rear. The...

Crossing a small creek, how deep of water can I go?

When I worked as a fleet mechanic for a delivery company the problem of crossing water became a real headache. When I would pull the front wheels for an inspection I would find hubs with water\rust and spun bearings quite often. Once I had a supervisor that got into some real trouble crossing a...

Here's a "Talk About Anything" thread

You should check your soles. Like I said the net check I did turned up many reports of this. I felt like I spent extra money for the Rockys so I didn't worry about them falling apart, always heard good things about them only to find out I got hosed but not again ever.

Rocky Boots Snow blowing and cold here. Had someone stuck in my driveway so I thought I would get dressed for the chore so I broke out my Rocky Bear Claw boots that I bought just before I retired three years ago, when I had money to spend on real nice stuff. I was in my shop and not the house...

    Thanksgiving RTV Story

I rode my bike, XR650, into work when ever I could and one day a supervisor kept on giving me the let me ride your bike song. He kept after me giving me the I know how to ride. I gave in, he killed it three times taking off, I knew I should of stopped it right there. Heard him coming around the...

    RTV 900 Front Axle

When I got my used 900 I went over it and found eight different places to check\change fluids. The two ft hubs, the ft differential, the power steering, the radiator, the engine, the hydrostat, and the oil for the bed lift. Also jack up the rear of your machine and check that the hub flanges for...

    Brake Fluid Advice

If i can add my two cents. You can mix Dot 3 and 4 fluid. Flushing the system is something that needs to be done if you want to keep things operating correctly. If there is anything other than clear fluid at the master cylinder suck it out pour in new fluid and start bleeding. Harley uses Dot 5...

hi all, newbie with a 1100 problem

I got to thinking if it had of dropped in even and had the doors jamed shut and sinking would of made for some tense moments. I just heard of someone local that had their new Polairs on a slick hill side and slid it down into a creek and my friend that went to help said it was upside down with...
