    Gear Maker Australia

No help from me, but I'm sure someone who knows more than I do will be along in a bit. I would like to welcome you to NetTractorTalk. Please enjoy the forums and post often. BTW, I'm not familiar with the Howard garden tractor. Was it made by the same folks who make the Howard Rotavator...

tooth bar w/ removable cutting edge

ATI toothbars can be ordered to fit JD buckets with replaceable cutting edges, according to their 2009 catalog. You can find the catalog here: http://www.preseeder.com/PDF/AttachProductList2009.pdf. See page 23. Others , such as W. R. Long or Btadco. may be able to provide it as well. Good luck...

    why I have been quiet

Hi, Brandi. No, no tractor - my handle will probably always be appropriate, alas! The closest thing I have is the '94 JD LX176 lawn tractor I bought my daughter a couple of years ago for her half acre. Now that I'm living in her house since retirement, the grass cutting duties and wrenching...

    First mow of the season

We've had rain every day except one for the past week. The news this morning said we had more than 7 inches out of the latest storm. They are not projecting another dry day until at least next Tuesday. I went out day before yesterday, our one dry day, and the lawn was too soggy to mow. I wonder...

I hope this is not one of you guys: Tractor DUI

In some jurisdictions, the cop has to have all his cases scheculed on his day off anyway. At least that's the way it was in Macon, GA, back in the 1960s. If it is that way where one is ticketed, that method won't do any good - it has to be a day when he isn't off.

    First mow of the season

Got the fuel filter changed yesterday while the tank was empty - ran out of gas at about 85% done with the lawn last week. Man, that fuel pump on the little LX176 is boss!! Just cranked the engine once, fuel already in the filter - started on second crank. Spent about two hours mowing the 1/2...

    Found this site today

Looking at New Holland's web site, it appears that the curved arms are only availabel on the Boomer series of tractors. The Economy series and all the larger models have the older style arms. Nice tractor, by the way. Is it a TT? And let me add my welcome to NTT! Fred

    Trip

Have a blast!! Sounds like a good trip. I'm planning a trip, too, leaving in early June to Nebraska, the Dakotas, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, and parts of British Columbia and Alberta. Planning for three months, see parts of the country I've never seen before. Fred

    First mow of the season

I just finally got around to using my free sample can, but I understand it has a JD part number. If your local dealer doesn't stock it, he should be able to get it for you. Or go to their website: http://www.fluid-film.com/. Tell them I sent you. (I have no relationship with them, just love...

    Splicing rope

Back a hundred years ago or so, my Boy Scout books showed how to do it. Unfortunately, they disappeared a looong time ago! I wish you luck with it. Fred

    First mow of the season

I finally got around to replacing the belt and cleaning up the mower deck yesterday, so got started mowing (a week or two late). Nearly done, ran out of gas. Storms last night, more expected today, so probably won't finish up until tomorrow afternoon or Sunday. BTW, sprayed the deck with Fluid...

How'd you find Net Tractor Talk?

I followed a link in Mith's signature on TBN. I had noticed where a number of people had dissappeared on the other site, and had seen several references, so joined up - but only about 8 months late!

    Markham welding co.

John Millonzi died a couple of months ago. They went out of business last year, after a successful lawsuit against them for breaking their lease and apparently some difficulties with their welders. His physical health may not have been good, either. It's truly a shame, they makd an excellent...
